Coat chicken breast pieces lightly in flour, shaking off excess, and place them on a plate.

Heat 2-3 tablespoons of oil or butter in a large skillet over high heat until the pan is hot.

Add half of the chicken pieces to the skillet and brown on both sides (about 3 minutes per side). Season chicken with salt and pepper while in the pan.

Remove the first batch of chicken, add more oil if needed, and brown the second batch of chicken.

Place all browned chicken pieces into the crock pot.

Sprinkle the chicken with dry Italian dressing mix and minced garlic.

Pour in chicken broth and lemon juice over the chicken.

Cover with a lid and cook on low for about 3 to 3 1/2 hours.
