Hamburger Steak Savory Gravy (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Patties

01 - 450 g ground beef
02 - 60 ml breadcrumbs
03 - 40 g diced onion
04 - 1 large egg
05 - 5 ml garlic powder
06 - Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

→ For cooking and gravy

07 - 30 ml vegetable oil
08 - 16 g all-purpose flour
09 - 355 ml beef broth
10 - Worcestershire sauce, to taste
11 - Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish

# Instructions:

01 - In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, diced onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until ingredients are just integrated.
02 - Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into an oval patty approximately 2 cm thick.
03 - Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear patties for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
04 - Reduce heat to medium. Add flour to the same skillet and cook, stirring, for 1–2 minutes until a light golden roux forms.
05 - Gradually whisk in beef broth, scraping up browned bits from the pan. Add Worcestershire sauce to taste. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
06 - Return patties to the skillet, spoon gravy over the tops, and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes to meld flavors.
07 - Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot, accompanied by mashed potatoes or rice if desired.

# Notes:

01 - For extra flavor, add sautéed mushrooms or caramelized onions to the gravy.
