Preheat a panini press or skillet over medium-low heat. Once heated, add assembled sandwiches. Cook until the bread turns golden and the cheese is fully melted, adjusting heat to low if the bread browns too quickly.

If using bacon, basil, or balsamic glaze, briefly remove the top slice of bread and add desired toppings over the melted cheese. Replace the bread.
