# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 2 jalapenos, sliced lengthwise, seeds and membranes removed
02 - 4 ounces cream cheese
03 - 4 slices beef bacon, crispy cooked
04 - 2 slices Monterey Jack cheese
05 - 2 slices sharp cheddar cheese
06 - 4 slices Italian bread
07 - Cilantro, chopped (optional)
08 - Pats of butter

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Stuff each jalapeno half with approximately 1 ounce of cream cheese. Bake stuffed jalapenos on a baking sheet for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven.
02 - Place 1 slice each of cheddar cheese on 2 bread slices. Place 1 slice each of Monterey Jack cheese on the remaining 2 bread slices. Each sandwich will have both types of cheese. Slice the cooked stuffed jalapenos into bite-size pieces and divide them between the 2 slices of bread with cheddar cheese. Add the 4 slices of beef bacon to the slices of bread with Monterey Jack cheese. If desired, add chopped cilantro to one side. Combine the slices of bread to form 2 sandwiches.
03 - Top each sandwich with several pats of butter. Place in a skillet over medium-low heat, butter side down. Top with more pats of butter. Grill each side until lightly browned. Cheese should be melted and gooey.

# Notes:

01 - Use gloves to cut the peppers in half and remove the seeds. Wash hands thoroughly after working with peppers to avoid irritation.
02 - Mound a small amount of cream cheese in the peppers to prevent overflow during baking.
03 - For firmer stuffed jalapenos, reduce the baking time by 10 minutes.
04 - Use good quality smoked nitrate-free bacon.
05 - Opt for thick bakery-style white bread, Italian bread, or European artisan bread for the best results.
06 - Select thick, high-quality slices of cheese, as it should be the star of the dish.
