Crispy Spinach Cheese Twists (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
02 - 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
03 - 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
04 - 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
05 - 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

→ Seasonings

06 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
07 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
08 - Salt and pepper, to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to smooth it out.
03 - In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped spinach, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
04 - Spread the cheese and spinach mixture evenly over one half of the puff pastry. Fold the other half over the filling, pressing down gently to seal the edges. Cut the pastry into 1-inch wide strips.
05 - Twist each strip several times and place on the prepared baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
06 - Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.

# Notes:

01 - Add chili flakes for a spicy kick
02 - Frozen spinach works too (squeeze out excess water)
03 - Best served warm but also delicious at room temperature
