→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
02 - 1 pound lean ground beef
03 - 1 small yellow onion, diced
04 - 1 small green bell pepper, diced
05 - 8 ounces cremini mushrooms, chopped
06 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
07 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
08 - 1 tablespoon ketchup
09 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch
10 - 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
11 - 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
12 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
13 - 6 ounces provolone cheese, shredded
14 - 4 brioche hamburger buns, toasted

# Instructions:

01 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking up with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through, approximately 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
02 - Add diced onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
03 - In a small bowl, whisk together Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, cornstarch, and beef broth until smooth. Pour the mixture into the skillet and stir to combine.
04 - Bring contents of the skillet to a gentle simmer and cook until the mixture thickens, around 2 minutes.
05 - Season with kosher salt and black pepper. Reduce heat to low and fold in shredded provolone cheese until fully melted and incorporated.
06 - Spoon the beef and vegetable mixture onto toasted brioche hamburger buns. Serve immediately while hot.

# Notes:

01 - For a richer flavor, be sure to brown the beef thoroughly and sauté the vegetables until deeply softened.
