07 - 1/2 cup heavy cream
08 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
09 - 8 ounces dry whole wheat bow tie pasta
10 - 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

# Instructions:

01 - Slice smoked sausage into bite-sized pieces.
02 - Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sliced sausage. Cook until onions soften and sausage browns, about 5-7 minutes.
03 - Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
04 - Add chicken broth, undrained diced tomatoes, heavy cream, and black pepper. Stir thoroughly to combine ingredients evenly.
05 - Add dry whole wheat pasta to the pot, stir to submerge it fully in the sauce. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and most liquid is absorbed.
06 - Remove pot from heat. Stir in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy.
