Bring the water to a boil in a pot. Turn off the heat and add the Thai tea mix, star anise, and cardamom pod. Steep for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on desired strength.

Stir in the sugar until completely dissolved.

Strain out the tea leaves and spices, discarding the solids.

Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.

Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice, leaving space at the top for the milk.
