30-Minute Cheddar Sausage Balls (Print Version)

Tender, golden cheddar sausage balls made with breakfast sausage, sharp cheddar, baking mix, and simple seasonings in about 30 minutes.

# Ingredients:

For the sausage balls

01 - 1 lb (450 g) pork breakfast sausage, mild or hot
02 - 2 cups (240 g) biscuit baking mix
03 - 8 oz (225 g) sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
04 - 1/4 cup (60 ml) whole milk
05 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
06 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
07 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
08 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, for finishing

For serving

09 - Ranch, honey mustard, barbecue sauce, or chili sauce, optional

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line two rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper or lightly grease them.
02 - Add the sausage, baking mix, cheddar, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to a large bowl. Mix with clean hands until evenly combined and slightly sticky.
03 - Scoop level tablespoons of the mixture and roll into 1-inch balls. Place them on the baking sheets about 1 inch apart.
04 - Bake for 14-16 minutes, rotating the pans halfway through, until golden brown and the centers reach 160°F on an instant-read thermometer.
05 - Let the sausage balls rest for 3 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley and serve warm with dipping sauce if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Makes about 36 one-inch sausage balls.
02 - Keep the balls small for a true 30-minute cook time.
03 - Best served warm, but they can be served at room temperature within a safe serving window.
