Air Fryer Hot Dog Melt (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 hot dog, sliced lengthwise into three even pieces
02 - 1 slice hearty bread (such as sourdough or rye), approximately 1 slice
03 - 1 teaspoon mayonnaise (or butter as an alternative)
04 - 1 slice Provolone cheese (or preferred melting cheese)

→ Optional Toppings

05 - Air-fried peppers, onions, mushrooms, or sautéed onions, to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Set the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to preheat fully.
02 - Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise evenly on one side of the bread slice to enhance flavor and crispness.
03 - Place the three lengthwise hot dog slices evenly over the mayonnaise-coated bread. Add optional toppings if desired, then cover with the cheese slice.
04 - Carefully transfer the assembled sandwich to the air fryer basket. Cook for approximately 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling with some caramelization.
05 - Remove the hot dog melt from the air fryer, let it cool briefly, and serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - To prevent cheese displacement from air circulation, use shredded cheese, secure cheese with toothpicks, or pre-melt cheese using a toast or bake setting before air frying.
02 - Select robust bread varieties like sourdough or rye for structural integrity; sweeter bread alternatives include challah or brioche.
03 - Customize with air-fried or sautéed vegetables and seasonings to enhance flavor.
