Set oven temperature to 400°F (204°C).

In a large sauté pan over medium-high heat, melt a small amount of margarine or butter. Add ground beef and crumble while cooking until fully browned. Drain excess grease.

Remove pan from heat. Stir in Thousand Island dressing, mayonnaise, diced onion, diced dill pickles, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until uniformly mixed.

Transfer beef mixture to a greased 9 x 13 inch (23 x 33 cm) baking dish, spreading evenly. Evenly sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef. Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.

Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until tater tots are golden brown and crispy.

Remove casserole from oven. Evenly scatter shredded iceberg lettuce over the top. Drizzle with remaining 1/4 cup Thousand Island dressing.
