Blackstone Fried Mozzarella Sticks (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cheese

01 - 8 slices fresh mozzarella

→ Breading

02 - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
03 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
04 - 1 large egg, beaten
05 - 2 tablespoons milk
06 - 2 cups panko breadcrumbs

→ Frying

07 - 1/2 cup olive oil

→ Marinara Sauce

08 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
09 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
10 - 1 cup tomato puree
11 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
12 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
13 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
14 - 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

# Instructions:

01 - Combine flour and garlic powder in a shallow dish. In a separate dish, whisk the egg with milk. Place panko breadcrumbs in a third shallow bowl.
02 - Dredge each slice of mozzarella first in the flour mixture, then the egg wash, and finally coat thoroughly in panko, pressing gently to adhere.
03 - Transfer the coated mozzarella slices onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze until firm.
04 - Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic for 1 minute. Add tomato puree and bring to a simmer. Stir in salt, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer gently on low heat.
05 - Set the Blackstone griddle to medium heat and evenly coat the surface with olive oil, ensuring a generous coverage without excessive pooling.
06 - Place frozen breaded mozzarella onto the hot, oiled griddle. Sear until golden brown on both sides, adding more oil before flipping if needed.
07 - Remove the fried mozzarella promptly and plate. Serve immediately with warm marinara sauce.

# Notes:

01 - Freezing the breaded mozzarella helps maintain its shape and prevents melting during frying.
02 - Ensure even oil distribution on the griddle to achieve maximum crispiness.
