Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Sauce

01 - 1/4 cup buffalo wing sauce
02 - 1-2 tablespoons sour cream
03 - 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
04 - 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley

→ Filling

05 - 1 cup cooked, shredded chicken
06 - 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)

→ Bread & Cheese

07 - 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
08 - 4 thick slices hearty bread, such as sourdough
09 - 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

→ Toppings (Optional)

10 - Sliced jalapeños
11 - Diced celery
12 - Ranch or blue cheese dressing, for dipping

# Instructions:

01 - In a bowl, combine buffalo wing sauce, sour cream, garlic powder, and dried parsley until the sauce is fully blended. Adjust the balance to taste.
02 - Fold in the shredded cooked chicken and crumbled blue cheese, coating the chicken evenly. Set aside until assembly.
03 - Preheat a large skillet over medium-low heat for 3 to 5 minutes until hot.
04 - Spread half the mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice. Place the bread, mayonnaise side down, into the hot skillet and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until golden and lightly toasted.
05 - Spread the remaining mayonnaise on the untoasted side of each bread slice. Flip the slices so the fresh mayo faces down. Top each with shredded Monterey Jack cheese and an even layer of the buffalo chicken mixture.
06 - Cover the skillet with a lid and continue cooking for 3 to 5 minutes, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is well-melted.
07 - Remove the bread slices from the skillet. Sandwich the pieces together, let cool for 1 to 2 minutes, then slice and serve hot. Optionally, top with jalapeños and celery, serving with ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side.

# Notes:

01 - Use crusty breads like sourdough or brioche to support the filling and prevent sogginess.
02 - For a chunkier texture, replace shredded chicken with baked or fried chicken tenders.
