Wet Ingredients

06 - ¾ cup whole milk or heavy cream
07 - 1 large egg
08 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Add-ins

09 - ½ cup raisins or chocolate chips

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly distributed.

04 - In a separate bowl, whisk together milk (or heavy cream), egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
05 - Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently mix until a soft dough forms. Fold in raisins or chocolate chips if using.
06 - Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat it to about 1 inch thickness. Cut into triangles or rounds and place on the prepared baking tray.
07 - Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, until the scones are golden brown on top.

# Notes:

01 - For a golden, slightly crunchy top, brush the scones with milk and sprinkle sugar before baking.
