Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Grease or line a mini muffin tin.

In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.

Unroll crescent roll dough and cut each triangle in half. Press each piece firmly into the mini muffin cups to form small dough cups.

Spoon 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese filling into each dough cup, followed by 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce on top.

If desired, sprinkle chopped pecans or orange zest over the fillings.

Bake for 11 to 13 minutes until the crescents are golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
