Easy Cinnamon French Toast Sticks (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 8 slices thick-cut Texas toast
02 - 4 large eggs
03 - 1 cup heavy cream
04 - 2 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
05 - 1 tablespoon sugar
06 - 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
07 - Unsalted butter, for cooking
08 - Maple syrup, for serving

# Instructions:

01 - Cut each slice of Texas toast into four sticks. Set aside.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla.
03 - Dip each piece of bread in the egg mixture, turning to coat all sides. Shake off excess, and arrange coated bread on a plate or baking dish.
04 - Heat a large sauté pan over medium heat and add 2 to 3 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, place the coated sticks in the pan in a single layer without overcrowding. Cook until golden brown on one side, flip, and cook until all edges are crisp and golden brown.
05 - Serve immediately with maple syrup for dipping.

# Notes:

01 - Day-old bread that's slightly dried out works best to absorb the custard.
02 - Thick bread with sturdy crusts holds its shape better for this recipe.
03 - To freeze, allow cooked sticks to cool completely, then freeze in a single layer before transferring to a freezer-safe container. Reheat using a toaster oven or air fryer for crisp results.
