Honey Garlic Chicken Mushrooms (Print Version)

Tender chicken sautéed with garlic and mushrooms, glazed with a sweet and savory honey soy sauce.

# Ingredients:

Protein

01 - 1 lb chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
02 - Salt and black pepper, to taste

Vegetables & Aromatics

03 - 1 cup sliced mushrooms
04 - 3 cloves garlic, minced

Oils & Fats

05 - 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter

Sauce

06 - ⅓ cup honey
07 - 3 tablespoons soy sauce
08 - 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
09 - 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
10 - ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

# Instructions:

01 - Season the chicken pieces evenly with salt and black pepper.
02 - Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
03 - In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until browned and slightly crispy, about 3 to 4 minutes.
04 - Add minced garlic to the mushrooms and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
05 - Stir in honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and ground black pepper. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes to combine flavors.
06 - Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Add cornstarch slurry if using and simmer until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken evenly, about 1 to 2 minutes.
07 - Serve warm over rice, cauliflower rice, or steamed vegetables of choice.

# Notes:

01 - For a thicker sauce, ensure the cornstarch slurry is fully dissolved before adding and allow it to simmer without stirring aggressively.
