Louisiana Voodoo Cajun Fries (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 pound frozen French fries or 4 to 5 medium russet potatoes, cut into fries

→ Toppings

02 - 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
03 - 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (about 0.5 cup)
04 - 2 green onions, thinly sliced

→ Seasoning and Sauce

05 - 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
06 - 0.5 cup ranch dressing
07 - 1 to 2 tablespoons hot sauce, such as Tabasco or Crystal
08 - 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
09 - 0.5 teaspoon paprika
10 - 0.25 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)

# Instructions:

01 - Bake or deep-fry frozen fries according to package instructions, or fry fresh-cut potatoes in hot oil at 375°F (190°C) for about 15 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain well.
02 - Immediately toss hot fries with Cajun seasoning until thoroughly coated.
03 - Arrange seasoned fries on a baking sheet. Evenly distribute shredded cheddar cheese over the top and broil for 2 to 3 minutes until cheese is fully melted.
04 - Scatter crumbled bacon and sliced green onions evenly over melted cheese.
05 - In a small bowl, whisk together ranch dressing, hot sauce, garlic powder, and paprika. Drizzle mixture generously over fries.
06 - Top with dollops of sour cream if desired, and serve immediately while hot.

# Notes:

01 - Adjust the level of heat by selecting a mild Cajun seasoning or reducing the amount of hot sauce.
02 - For a vegetarian version, omit bacon or use a plant-based alternative.
03 - For a lighter option, bake fries instead of frying and select light ranch dressing.
