Pepperoni Pizza Sliders (Print Version)

Soft pull-apart rolls layered with pepperoni, pizza sauce, melty cheese, and garlic Parmesan butter.

# Ingredients:

For the sliders

01 - 1 package (12 count) Hawaiian-style sweet rolls, kept attached
02 - 3/4 cup (180 ml) thick pizza sauce, plus 1 cup (240 ml) warm sauce for dipping
03 - 6 slices provolone cheese, about 4 oz (115 g)
04 - 5 oz (140 g) sliced pepperoni
05 - 2 cups (225 g) shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese

For the garlic Parmesan butter

06 - 4 tablespoons (56 g) unsalted butter, melted
07 - 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
08 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
09 - 2 tablespoons finely grated Parmesan cheese
10 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, plus more for serving
11 - 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, optional
12 - Pinch of kosher salt

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
02 - Keep the rolls attached and slice them horizontally with a serrated knife. Place the bottom slab in the prepared dish and set the top slab aside.
03 - Spread 3/4 cup pizza sauce over the bottom rolls. Add provolone, half the pepperoni, mozzarella, and the remaining pepperoni.
04 - Place the top slab over the filling. Stir melted butter, garlic, Italian seasoning, Parmesan, parsley, red pepper flakes if using, and salt in a small bowl. Spoon evenly over the rolls.
05 - Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake for 12 minutes, until the cheese starts to melt.
06 - Remove the foil and bake for 6-8 minutes more, until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted. Rest 5 minutes, slice through the seams, and serve with warm pizza sauce.

# Notes:

01 - Best served hot after a 5-minute rest.
02 - Use thick pizza sauce to keep the rolls from turning soggy.
03 - Add pre-cooked toppings only, and keep them thin.
