Sausage French Toast Roll-Ups (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 8 slices white or whole wheat bread
02 - 8 cooked breakfast sausage links
03 - 4 large eggs
04 - 120 ml milk
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
06 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
07 - 15 grams unsalted butter

→ To Serve

08 - Maple syrup, to drizzle
09 - Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Prepare the sausage links in a skillet or oven as directed on the package. Set aside once cooked.
02 - Remove crusts from each bread slice and flatten thoroughly with a rolling pin.
03 - In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until homogeneous.
04 - Position a sausage link at one end of each bread slice, roll tightly, and secure with a toothpick if necessary.
05 - Immerse each assembled roll-up in the egg custard, ensuring even coating on all sides.
06 - Heat butter in a nonstick skillet over medium. Cook roll-ups, rotating, until golden on all sides, about 3–4 minutes. Remove toothpicks if used.
07 - Arrange warm roll-ups on a serving plate. Drizzle with maple syrup and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Plant-based or turkey sausages can be substituted for a lighter or vegetarian version.
02 - Uncooked roll-ups may be prepared a day in advance, refrigerated, and reheated before serving.
