In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and whole milk until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in the whipped topping or freshly whipped cream until fully incorporated.

Core and chop 5 of the Granny Smith apples into bite-sized pieces. If preparing ahead, toss apple pieces with a little lemon juice or 7-Up to prevent browning, then pat dry before use.

Chop 5 of the Snickers bars into small bite-sized pieces. Reserve 1 bar for garnish.

Fold the chopped apples and Snickers pieces into the pudding mixture until evenly distributed. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Just before serving, chop the reserved apple and Snickers bar. Scatter over the top of the salad and drizzle with caramel sauce if desired.
