star-shaped cheese appetizers (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Pastry

01 - 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

→ Cheese Filling

02 - 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
03 - 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
04 - ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
05 - 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
06 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
07 - ¼ teaspoon salt
08 - ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

→ Glaze & Topping

09 - 1 large egg, beaten
10 - ¼ cup red hot pepper jelly
11 - Fresh parsley or chives, finely chopped (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out star shapes. Alternatively, use round or square cutters if a star shape is not available.
03 - In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar, grated Parmesan, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until smooth and creamy.
04 - Arrange the pastry stars on the prepared baking sheet. Place a small dollop of the cheese mixture in the center of each pastry, spreading slightly while leaving edges clear.
05 - Lightly brush the beaten egg over the exposed edges of each pastry to ensure a golden finish after baking.
06 - Bake the assembled pastries for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and the cheese mixture is bubbling.
07 - Allow the baked pastries to cool slightly, then top each with a small spoonful of red hot pepper jelly.
08 - Sprinkle with fresh parsley or chives if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.

# Notes:

01 - Ensure cream cheese is fully softened for a smooth filling. Adjust red hot pepper jelly quantity according to taste. Prepare appetizers ahead and bake just before serving for freshness.
