Sticky Honey Garlic Sausage Pasta (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 8 ounces penne or rotini pasta
02 - 1 pound Italian, smoked, or chicken sausage, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
03 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
04 - 1/4 cup honey
05 - 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
06 - 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
07 - 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
08 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
09 - Salt and black pepper, to taste
10 - Fresh parsley, finely chopped, for garnish

# Instructions:

01 - Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente according to package directions, typically 8–10 minutes. Drain but do not rinse. Set aside.
02 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and caramelized. Reduce heat to medium-low, add minced garlic, and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
03 - In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes if using. Pour sauce into skillet with sausage and garlic. Simmer, stirring frequently, for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly and coats the sausage.
04 - Add cooked pasta to the skillet. Gently toss to coat pasta evenly with the sausage and sauce. Continue cooking over medium heat for 2–3 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
05 - Remove skillet from heat. Garnish pasta with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - Do not rinse the drained pasta to help sauce adhere better.
