Strawberry Shortcake Tiramisu (Print Version)

A luscious layered dessert with fresh strawberries, creamy filling, and sweet biscuits chilled to perfection.

# Ingredients:

Fruit

01 - 1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced
02 - 1 tablespoon fresh lemon or lime juice

Sweeteners

03 - 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
04 - ½ cup sifted powdered sugar
05 - 2 teaspoons strawberry preserves, melted

Dairy

06 - 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
07 - 1½ cups heavy whipping cream

Flavorings

08 - 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
09 - 2 drops red food coloring (optional)

Baking

10 - 1 package ladyfingers

Liquids

11 - ¼ cup orange juice

# Instructions:

01 - In a large bowl, combine sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Toss gently and set aside to allow natural juices to develop.
02 - Whip heavy cream with pure vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Reserve half for layering and set aside.
03 - In a separate bowl, beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and melted strawberry preserves on medium speed until smooth. Add red food coloring if a pink hue is desired, then fold in half of the whipped cream gently.
04 - Place ladyfingers in a small bowl and drizzle evenly with orange juice to moisten.
05 - In a 23x23 cm (9x9 inch) glass dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers. Spread half of the cream cheese filling over them, followed by half of the macerated strawberries, then half of the whipped cream topping.
06 - Repeat the layering process starting with ladyfingers, cream cheese filling, strawberries, and whipped cream. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight to set. Optionally, freeze for one hour to firm the berries before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Use softened cream cheese for a smooth, creamy filling.
02 - Choose fresh, ripe strawberries at peak season for optimal flavor.
03 - Plan ahead as the dessert requires a minimum of 6 hours refrigeration to set properly.
