Add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of the granulated sugar to a medium-size pot. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar.

Once the water has reached a boil, remove from heat and add the cranberries. Stir well to coat all the berries in the syrup.

Using a slotted spoon, transfer the cranberries to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let them dry for approximately 1 hour.

After an hour, place the sticky cranberries into a large bowl. Add the remaining 1 cup of sugar and gently toss to coat all the berries.

Using a slotted spoon, remove the cranberries from the sugar, gently shaking off any excess. Place them onto a clean parchment-lined baking sheet.

Let the sugared cranberries dry for another 30 minutes before transferring to an airtight container for storage in the refrigerator.
