Sugared Cranberries for Desserts (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Sugared Cranberries

01 - 3 cups fresh cranberries
02 - 1 cup water
03 - 2 cups granulated sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of the granulated sugar to a medium-size pot. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
02 - Once the water has reached a boil, remove from heat and add the cranberries. Stir well to coat all the berries in the syrup.
03 - Using a slotted spoon, transfer the cranberries to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let them dry for approximately 1 hour.
04 - After an hour, place the sticky cranberries into a large bowl. Add the remaining 1 cup of sugar and gently toss to coat all the berries.
05 - Using a slotted spoon, remove the cranberries from the sugar, gently shaking off any excess. Place them onto a clean parchment-lined baking sheet.
06 - Let the sugared cranberries dry for another 30 minutes before transferring to an airtight container for storage in the refrigerator.

# Notes:

01 - After removing the cranberries from the syrup, you can strain and store the syrup in the refrigerator for use as a cocktail ingredient.
02 - Leftover sugar can be dried on parchment paper, tinted pink, and reused for decorating desserts and cocktail glasses.
03 - For a perfect sugar coating with minimal waste, approximately 1/3 cup of sugar may suffice, depending on the size of the cranberries.
