Zesty Orange Cookies (Printer-Friendly Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ For the Cookie Dough

01 - 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
02 - ½ teaspoon baking powder
03 - ½ teaspoon baking soda
04 - ¼ teaspoon salt
05 - ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
06 - ½ cup granulated sugar
07 - ¼ cup light brown sugar, packed
08 - 1 large egg
09 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
10 - ½ teaspoon orange extract
11 - 1 tablespoon orange zest
12 - ½ cup white chocolate chips

→ For the Filling

13 - ½ cup orange preserves or jam

# Let's Cook!:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
03 - Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Mix in egg, vanilla extract, orange extract, and orange zest until well combined.
04 - Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in white chocolate chips.
05 - Drop balls of dough onto prepared baking sheet. Make an indentation in center of each cookie and fill with a small amount of orange preserves.
06 - Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are slightly golden. Cool on baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
