Quick Cast Iron Pizza Recipe (Printer-Friendly Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
02 - 1 can of Pillsbury pizza dough, room temperature
03 - 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, freshly shredded is best
04 - ½ cup pizza sauce
05 - Your choice of pizza toppings

# Let's Cook!:

01 - Adjust oven racks, placing one at the very bottom and another at the top, then preheat to 450°F (230°C)
02 - Coat the bottom and sides of a cast iron pan with oil. Stretch the pizza dough to cover the bottom of the pan, using your fingers to create dimples
03 - Distribute mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough, extending to the edges. Spoon sauce over the cheese, spreading it to the edges. Add your favorite toppings
04 - Bake on the bottom rack for 18-20 minutes, until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted. For a more browned top, move to top rack for an additional 2-3 minutes
05 - Remove pan and place on a wire rack briefly. Loosen edges with a knife, then transfer pizza to a cutting board with a spatula. Serve hot

# Cook's Notes:

01 - Freshly shredded cheese melts better than pre-shredded
02 - Putting sauce on top of cheese prevents soggy crust
03 - You can use homemade pizza dough instead of store-bought
