Gooey Chocolate Lava Cookies (Printer-Friendly Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter
02 - 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus extra for the centers)
03 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
04 - 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
05 - 2 large eggs
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
07 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
08 - 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
09 - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
10 - 1/4 teaspoon salt

# Let's Cook!:

01 - Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
02 - In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly
03 - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture until smooth
04 - In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined
05 - Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes to make it easier to handle
06 - Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, scoop out a portion of dough and flatten it slightly in your palm. Place a few chocolate chips in the center and fold the dough around the chips to seal, rolling it into a ball. Place on the prepared baking sheet
07 - Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft. Be careful not to overbake!
08 - Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely

# Cook's Notes:
