Juicy Hawaiian Huli Chicken (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main

01 - 1 fresh pineapple, cut into rings
02 - 1 tablespoon sesame oil
03 - 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
04 - 2 cloves garlic, chopped up
05 - 2 tablespoons brown sugar
06 - 1/4 cup soy sauce
07 - 1/2 cup juice from pineapple
08 - 1 cup teriyaki sauce
09 - 4 chicken thighs or breasts, no skin or bones

→ Garnish (optional)

10 - Sliced green onions
11 - Sesame seeds

# Instructions:

01 - Put the grilled chicken on a platter, layer the pineapple rings on top, then sprinkle green onions and sesame seeds if you want.
02 - Toss out the marinade that touched raw chicken.
03 - Toss pineapple rings on the grill, cook both sides for around 2 or 3 minutes till they're sweet and have nice grill lines.
04 - Grill your chicken for about 6 to 7 minutes on each side. Every once in a while, brush some of the leftover marinade on. Make sure it's cooked all the way through.
05 - Take chicken out of the marinade and keep some of that marinade aside for brushing later.
06 - Turn the grill up to medium-high and let it get hot.
07 - Stick chicken in a zip-top bag or shallow dish, pour in the marinade, cover up, and pop it in the fridge for at least a couple hours, or all night for the best taste.
08 - Grab a bowl and mix teriyaki sauce, pineapple juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, chopped garlic, ginger, and sesame oil together until they're blended.

# Notes:

01 - Letting your chicken soak overnight really kicks up the flavors. Using fresh pineapple gives a sweet punch when it hits the grill.
