Healthy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 2 cups rolled oats
02 - 1/2 cup almond flour (or whole wheat flour)
03 - 1/2 tsp baking soda
04 - 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
05 - 1/4 tsp salt

→ Wet Ingredients

06 - 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
07 - 1/4 cup almond butter (or peanut butter)
08 - 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
09 - 1 large egg
10 - 1 tsp vanilla extract

→ Mix-ins

11 - 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
12 - 1/4 cup dried fruit (optional)
13 - 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease lightly
02 - In a large bowl, combine rolled oats, almond flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt
03 - In another bowl, whisk together honey/maple syrup, almond butter, applesauce, egg, and vanilla until smooth
04 - Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until well combined
05 - Fold in chocolate chips, dried fruit, and chopped nuts if using
06 - Pour batter into prepared baking dish, spread evenly. Bake 20-25 minutes until golden and toothpick comes out clean
07 - Let cool in pan 10 minutes before transferring to wire rack. Once completely cool, cut into bars

01 - Stores up to 5 days at room temperature or 1 week refrigerated
02 - Use dairy-free chocolate chips for vegan version
03 - Add protein powder to wet ingredients for extra protein
