Easy Homemade McGriddle Sandwich (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Egg Preparation

01 - 6 large eggs
02 - 1 cup whole milk
03 - 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
04 - Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
05 - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

→ Maple Pancake Buns

06 - 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
07 - 2/3 cup whole milk
08 - 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
09 - 1 large egg
10 - 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
11 - 2.5 tablespoons pure maple syrup
12 - Pinch of salt

→ Breakfast Sausage Patties

13 - 1 pound ground breakfast sausage

→ Optional Components

14 - 8 slices cooked bacon
15 - 4 slices American or cheddar cheese

# Instructions:

01 - Shape the ground breakfast sausage into 4 equal patties. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook patties for approximately 3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside. If using bacon, cook the slices in the same skillet until crisp and set aside.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until thoroughly blended. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. Pour in 1/4 of the egg mixture and cook undisturbed until the edges firm, about 1–2 minutes. Gently flip, cook for another minute, and then fold into a square shape. Repeat until all egg mixture is used to form 4 omelet squares.
03 - Combine flour, milk, melted butter, egg, baking powder, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl. Whisk until a smooth batter forms. Heat a lightly buttered skillet over medium heat. Pour approximately 3 tablespoons batter per pancake and cook 2–3 pancakes at a time. Cook about 2 minutes, flip when bubbles form, then continue for another minute until golden and set. Set aside and repeat until you have 8 pancakes.
04 - Layer one pancake with a slice of cheese, followed by a sausage patty, one egg omelet square, and bacon if using. Top with a second pancake. Repeat to build all 4 sandwiches.
05 - Serve sandwiches immediately while hot for optimal taste and texture. Enjoy alongside fresh fruit or hash browns if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Add vegetables such as sautéed spinach or bell peppers to eggs for extra nutrition.
02 - For a spicy variation, add hot sauce or sliced jalapeños before assembly.
03 - Sandwiches can be made ahead and reheated in the microwave or oven for quick breakfasts.
04 - Try different cheeses or substitute sausage with bacon, ham, or plant-based patties.
