Pizza Hawaiian Sliders (Print Version)

Sweet rolls filled with pepperoni, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese, brushed with garlic butter and baked.

# Ingredients:

Bread

01 - 2 packages King's Hawaiian sweet rolls, 12 count each

Sauce

02 - 1 jar pizza sauce or marinara sauce, 13 ounces (about 1 ½ cups homemade sauce)

Meat

03 - 8 ounces sliced pepperoni

Cheese

04 - 16 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
05 - 6-8 ounces freshly grated parmesan cheese

Seasoning

06 - 1 ½ teaspoons pizza seasoning

Topping

07 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
08 - 1 clove fresh garlic, finely minced
09 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
10 - Pinch of salt and pepper

Optional Additional Toppings

11 - Thinly sliced bell pepper
12 - Roasted red pepper
13 - Thinly sliced onion
14 - Cooked and crumbled sausage

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a large baking dish or rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray and set aside.
02 - Without separating the rolls, use a large serrated knife to slice the entire package in half horizontally, as you would a bagel, separating tops from bottoms. Arrange the bottom halves cut side up in the prepared baking dish.
03 - In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix shredded mozzarella, grated parmesan, and pizza seasoning until evenly distributed.
04 - Spread half of the pizza sauce evenly over the bottom halves. Sprinkle half of the cheese mixture over the sauce, then layer sliced pepperoni. Top with the remaining cheese mixture.
05 - Spread the remaining pizza sauce onto the cut side of the tops. Place the tops onto the assembled bottoms, completing the sliders.
06 - Melt unsalted butter in a small bowl, then stir in minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until combined.
07 - Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over the tops of the sliders. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops are lightly browned.
08 - Remove from oven and optionally grate additional parmesan cheese over the sliders before serving.

# Notes:

01 - For variety, combine traditional and thinly sliced deli pepperoni. Additional toppings should be added after layering pepperoni or used as a substitute.
