Arrange chicken pieces in a single layer in a large baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with cumin, garlic powder, red chili pepper flakes, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat the chicken thoroughly with seasonings.

Spoon the salsa fresca mixture evenly over the seasoned chicken. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

Bake in the center of the oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and is no longer pink.
