Slow Cooker Green Beans Ham (Print Version)

Hearty dish with tender green beans, flavorful ham, and soft potatoes slow-cooked to perfection.

# Ingredients:

Vegetables

01 - 2 pounds fresh green beans, rinsed and trimmed
02 - 1 large onion, chopped
03 - 1 ½ pounds new potatoes, quartered

Meat

04 - 3 ham hocks

Seasonings

05 - 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon granules
06 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
07 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
08 - 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
09 - Ground black pepper to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Halve the green beans if large. Place the green beans in the slow cooker and add enough water to barely cover them. Add the ham hocks and chopped onion.
02 - Cover and cook on high until simmering. Reduce to low and cook for 2 to 3 hours, until the beans are crisp-tender but not fully cooked.
03 - Remove ham hocks from the slow cooker. Add the quartered potatoes and cook on low for an additional 45 minutes.
04 - While potatoes cook, remove ham meat from the bones. Chop or shred the meat and return it to the slow cooker. Season with chicken bouillon granules, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt, and ground black pepper.
05 - Use a slotted spoon to transfer green beans, potatoes, and ham to a serving dish along with some cooking broth.

# Notes:

01 - Use fresh green beans and trim ends for best texture. Adjust seasoning to taste before serving.
